Dublin Arabic Film Festival on Tour with Zahara Moufid
Filmmaker Zahara Moufid will be attending this years Waterford Film Festival. Zahara founded the Dublin Arabic Film Festival in 2014 along with Oscar nominated director Jim Sheridan. She will be discussing Arabic filmmaking and culture as well as presenting two short films, 'Salam' a short documentary that gives an insight into the Syrian refugee crisis and her latest short film Pappy.
Pappy Synopsis As Pappy's forgetfulness segues into dementia he struggles to hide it from his family. While the only thing that keeps him anchored is memories of his late beloved wife, Rosie, by slow degrees his life becomes an emotional tragedy. Pappy is directed by Zahara Moufid and written by Mary D'Arcy. |

Screenplay Finalists & Awards
Every year the festival holds an annual short screenplay competition to support National and International writers including students & professionals.
For the first time since we launched this competition at the 2nd Film Festival in 2008 , this year we have awarded 40 writers as finalists.
